CT Grown program to include CT forest products

On Wednesday December 29, 2010, the state Department of Environmental Protection announced the expansion of the Connecticut Grown program to include forest products.  At a ceremony held at Early New England Homes in Bolton, CT, CT DEP Commissioner Amey Marella joined CT Department of Agriculture Philip Prelli and state forester Christopher Martin in announcing this initiative.  Present in the audience were members from the Connecticut Professional Timber Producers Association, members of the Connecticut General Assembly, media, representatives from UCONN Cooperative Extension, CT Tree Farm program , CT DEP service forestry and primary and secondary wood producers.
