CT Professional Timber Producers Assoc. Raises $4,210 for CT Children's Medical Center
Saturday September 26th 2009

This year’s Log A Load Campaign raised $4,210, far exceeding any previous year’s campaign!  Despite a dismal economy the Connecticut forest products industry opened its’ pocketbooks and hearts to raise money for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT.  The Campaign was held during the month of September and culminated with the running of the Southern New England Game of Logging Regional Competition held in conjunction with Celebrating Agriculture in Woodstock, CT on September 26, 2009.

A raffle held the day of the competition helped raise over $600 for the Campaign. Raffle items included a new Dolmar chainsaw and bar oil donated by Bill Girard, grass seed donated by Tractor Supply, First Aid kits donated by Bernard Garbrielson, T-shirt and hat donated by Timpro.  Entrance fees for the competitors were waived in lieu of donations to the Campaign.

A very special thank you goes to the following individuals and companies that helped make this year’s Campaign an overwhelming success:

NE Timberland Investments LLC, Hull Forest Products, Kahn Tractor, WJ Cox and Associates, Bill Girard, Tractor Supply, Steve Tallman, Perry Sawyer, Bernard Gabrielson, Kevin Grady, Ed McGuire, Bob’s Landclearing Inc., Peter Hart, Jerry Bellows, Mike Ferrucci, Doug Emmerthal, Old Miriah Logging, Nichols Forestry & Logging, LLC, the CT Chapter of the Society of American Foresters, Mike Bartlett.

Since 2007 the CT Professional Timber Producers Association has raised $9,754 for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through the Log A Load for Kids Campaign.  Log A Load for Kids is a nationally recognized program whereby state timber and forestry associations help raise money for a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.  In Connecticut the dedicated hospital is the CT Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT.  One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the Children’s Hospital to provide assistance to children that need medical procedures and do not have the financial resources to pay.
